Answers to Frequently Asked COVID-19 Questions

If you are wondering what to expect at your next appointment, we understand that you might have some questions. Here are some of the most common questions you may have. Should you have additional questions please feel free to contact us.

Question:

Is it safe to visit my therapist right now?

Answer:

We are strictly following all guidelines from the government of Alberta as well as our professional associations in order to keep you safe.  However if you are at risk or nervous about coming back in we recommend that you wait until you are more comfortable. If you have any specific questions about your conditions feel free to contact us or ask your physician if they recommend seeking treatment at this time.

Question:

Will my therapist be wearing a mask?

Answer:

Yes, all therapists and staff will be masked during treatment and any time social distancing of two meters can not be maintained.  if you have difficulty understanding your therapist while wearing the mask they may remove it to speak to you if safe distancing can be maintained.

Question:

Do I have to wear a mask?

Answer:

It is your choice whether or not you wear a mask during your treatment.  We are happy to provide you with a mask for your treatment if you don't have one. If you are unable to wear a mask, your therapist will work with you to find a comfortable and safe position for your treatment.

Question:

When should I arrive for my appointment?

Answer:

Try to avoid arriving more than 5 minutes before your appointment time to avoid excess waiting time in our office.

Question:

Am I able to sit in the waiting room?

Answer:

When you arrive for your appointment you may come straight into the waiting room.  Hand sanitizer is provided in the waiting room and you will either be greeted by your therapist or you may sit and wait.  The waiting room has been rearranged to allow safe distancing.

Question:

What do I do if I get sick before my appointment?

Answer:

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, such as a fever, cough, sore throat, nasal congestion, runny nose or difficulty breathing, please contact us to reschedule your appointment.

Question:

Will I be charged a cancellation fee?

Answer:

No, we will not charge you a fee for cancelling or rescheduling your appointment due to COVID-19 symptoms.  We do ask however, that you try to avoid last minute cancellations for other reasons, and that you give us as much notice as possible so we can refill your appointment time.

Question:

Do you have a public washroom?

Answer:

Yes, you may use the washroom during your visit, however we ask that you keep in mind that it is in a shared space outside our clinic so it is a less controlled environment.  Therefore if possible try to use your own washroom at home before your visit.
